Count Down to Burning Man 2009
February 9, 2009
By:
Sergeant Spore

Six months 3 weeks and 1 day from the publication of this
article, thousands of people will gather on a dried ancient lake
bed 160 miles north east of Reno Nevada in a place called
Black Rock City.

For 23 consecutive years the ritual burning of The “Man” has
symbolized an unyielding freedom of expression sought after by
all people.

While one can explain what can be found at Burning man, the
actual experience cannot be passed on through words.  In order
to truly understand what Burning man is, one needs to
participate. And because the event sends each individual away
with their own personal gift, one can only receive that gift first
hand by attending the event.

For the members of FleshCap, Burning man is the chief event of
the year, which brings together the entire family. Flesh Cap
members of varying interests such as artists, photographers,
psychonauts, ravers, rockers, writers etc. all have a place in this
fantastic event.

Terrence Mc Kenna once quoted Timothy Leary as giving all of
us within the “Community” a task. That task was to “Find the
Others.” One does not need to look any further than Burning
Man. The Allies and their friends have a strong presence at
Burning Man. And with so many like minded people together,
safety is assured in numbers.

Burning Man is a place where the family can safely come
together, bond, and journey with the Allies without fear. Trained
civilian “Rangers” are on hand at the event to assist those who
may be having difficult experiences. In addition, places like the
“Sanctuary”- a safe haven for those who wish to journey with the
Allies- provide a common area for anyone in need.

Those who understand the Allies know the importance of
setting. Setting provides the basis for transformational
experiences. The art, people, and energy of Burning Man
provide a setting like none other.

The FleshCap family invites you to embark on a pilgrimage to a
place we call Home: Black Rock City Nevada. See you on the
playa.
